Pinellas County, Florida has three popular FRESHWATER public boat docks and boat launching facilities along Lake Tarpon and Lake Seminole for those Pinellas County area residents that enjoy fishing, waterskiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing and more…
About Lake Tarpon: We are blessed to have Lake Tarpon located in Northern Pinellas County. This large popular freshwater lake is 5 miles long and one mile wide and is 8 to 12 feet deep on average so it can handle recreational boating of powerboats, jet skis as well as canoes and kayaks.
About Lake Seminole: This a large freshwater lake is found in the center of Pinellas County - close to the cities of Largo, Seminole and Pinellas Park.
Lake Seminole was actually created in the 1940s and has been used extensively since then for boating, skiing and fishing.
About Pinellas County Freshwater Boating Facilities:
A. L. Anderson Park - located at 39699 US Highway 19 North Tarpon Springs, Florida
- This 123 acre Pinellas County Park is on Lake Tarpon;
- Open 24 hours a Day;

- Public Boat Dock & Launching facility;
John Chestnut Sr. Park - located at 2200 East Lake Road Palm Harbor Florida
- This 255 acre Pinellas County Park is adjacent to Lake Tarpon;
- Open Sunrise to Sunset - times vary based on seasons;
- Restroom Facilities Available;
- Public Boat Dock and Launching Facility;
Lake Seminole Park - located at 10015 Park Boulevard Seminole Florida
- This 250 acre Pinellas County Park is on Lake Seminole;
- Open Sunrise to Sunset - times vary based on seasons;
- Restroom Facilities Available;
- Public Boat Dock and Launching Facility;
Pinellas County Costs to use Boating Facilities:
Since late 2003 the county implemented a $5 per day Boat Trailer Parking Fee or if you are a frequent boater you may opt for the $100 annual pass. Otherwise the parks are FREE.
There is a Kiosk for you to pay your trailer parking fee.
Fishing in Pinellas County - You need a Florida Fishing License
Did you know that regardless of where you’re fishing or what you’re fishing for you need a license to fish in Florida.

Clearwater sounds like a fisherman’s paradise! I’m not a boater of fisherman but those pics feel inviting. Great information about Pinellas fishing license requirements and available boat docks and launching facilities.
I’m jealous of all the water you guys have out there! I love boating! I bought my first boat when I was 17. But in Colorado there is so little water, I get very few opportunities.
