Sand Key Florida – Clearwater’s own Community Sailing Center
Sand Key Florida – When heading to Sand Key Beach or Clearwater Beach next time, consider visiting the Clearwater Community Sailing Center (CCSC) is you’re looking for something different to do. The Clearwater Sailing Center is located on Sand Key across from the Sand Key Beach Park at 1001 Gulf Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida 33767. You can learn to sail or windsurf there along with renting out the facility for weddings or parties.
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center was established to provide safe, enriching and affordable sailing opportunities to local Clearwater Florida residents and visitors, including youth, seniors, and the disabled for the benefit of the entire Clearwater community.
We are proud to be part of Charles Rutenberg Realty which supports the non profit – Sailability, based out of the CCSC by raising fund to purchase and outfit boats and equipment to allow disabled or challenged individuals to also enjoy sailing in Clearwater.

Sand Key FL – Clearwater offers Sailing Instruction
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center which is actually a public facility and part of Clearwater Beach and owned and operated by the city of Clearwater, Florida (which Sand Key is a part of).
It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an experienced sailor because the Center has sailing instruction and sailboat rentals for everyone.
The sailing instruction is geared to all age groups, is delivered in a small group setting, and they guarantee these courses will teach you to sail safely and confidently. They will teach you everything you need to know to navigate your first dinghy or race your Laser to victory.
Sailboat Rentals available on Sand Key Florida
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center even offers sailboat rentals which you can easily check out online and has a fleet of over 40 sailboats available to the public. Daily or annual membership is required to use the boats and the rental rates range from $20/hr for a Sun-fish to $40/hr for a 17′ Sloop. (subject to change so verify current rates)

Indian Rocks Beach Florida | This Year’s Holiday Boat Parade was Windy and Magically Wonderful in 2007

Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Boat Parade is a local Tradition
Indian Rocks Beach Florida – This past weekend our family went to Jimmy Iguana’s Restuarant and Open Air Waterfront Bar, a popular dock and dine (boaters always welcome here) in the Holiday Inn Harborside. It was the perfect spot to watch this years Indian Rocks Beach’s Holiday Boat Parade of 2007.
Now after a glorius week of 83 degree weather in Tampa Bay Florida, Saturday we were in for a change and the coldfront brought strong winds which started kicking up earlier that day as I watched the Clearwater Holiday Parade.
By sunset the tempatures had start dropping but nothing could dampen the spirits of those watching the dancing Christmas light on all the decked out boats along our intercoastal waterway. These Tampa Bay boaters were creative and colorful and each decorated boat was unique. Here are a couple of videos showing some of the boats in this years Indian Rocks Beach Boat Parade.
When you watch the videos you can hear the wind whipping out there. The captains did a great job keeping all the boats from bumping into each other in the narrow canal as it took an extra 30 minutes for some of the boats to make it to the parade. I hope the video gave you a glimpse into Christmas along the Tampa Florida Beaches.
There was a fabulous display of lights, decorations, animation and music on the boats that participated in this years Indian Rocks Beach Holiday boat parade. I guess the $4000 in prize money helped energize everyone’s Christmas spirit.
I took some pictures (however I need a better flash – rumor is Santa is hoping to bring one this year 
) I also took some videos to share the experience for those that weren’t able to be with us in Indian Rocks Beach Florida this year.

Boating and Waterfront Living in Tampa Bay
Boating is part of living on the waterfront in Tampa Bay. If you want to enjoy boating we have lots of different ways to enjoy boating from buying your own boat to being part of a boating club or sail boat racing team. We even have extensive classes at the Clearwater Sailing Center and the Clearwater Power Squadron. Wishing lots of “fun by the foot” when boating in 2008 as my friend, Shane Faunce says.

This weekend St Petersburg with be holding the Boater’s World 30th Annual St. Petersburg Boat Show.

This is the largest boat show on the Gulf Coast of Florida with more than 500 boats on display in the water and on land.

Clearwater Florida Boating – Ladies Only!
Clearwater Florida – Hey ever dreamed of boating in Tampa Bay? You may have noticed that Clearwater Florida in November is glorious boating weather.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about boating in and around Clearwater Florida?
Now you’re in luck, the 2nd Wednesday of each month MarineMax of Clearwater Florida offers a FREE class on boating for women called Women on the Water.
If you live in Pinellas County or even Tampa – this is conveniently located off US 19, south of US 60 and the Clearwater Mall and North or Ulmerton Road from the Howard Franklin Bridge. The address for MarineMax is 18025 US 19 N. Clearwater Florida 33764. It is located between two of our best waterfront condo communities located on the open waters of Tampa Bay, Cove Cay and The Grand Bellagio | Cay Clubs.
This Clearwater Boating course for Women is taught by a Coast Guard certified Captain. It will include information on:
- basic marine rules in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico;
- using a marine radio when boating in Tampa Bay;
- docking a boat or yacht;
- tying nautical knots for Clearwater boaters;

In Clearwater Beach Florida Boating leaves ‘em Screaming…for More!
