Indian Rocks Beach Florida | This Year’s Holiday Boat Parade was Windy and Magically Wonderful in 2007

Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Boat Parade is a local Tradition

Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Boat Parade December 2007Indian Rocks Beach Florida –  This past weekend our family went to Jimmy Iguana’s Restuarant and Open Air Waterfront Bar, a popular dock and dine (boaters always welcome here) in the Holiday Inn Harborside. It was the perfect spot to watch this years Indian Rocks Beach’s Holiday Boat Parade of 2007.

Now after a glorius week of 83 degree weather in Tampa Bay Florida, Saturday we were in for a change and the coldfront brought strong winds which started kicking up earlier that day as I watched the Clearwater Holiday Parade.

By sunset the tempatures had start dropping but nothing could dampen the spirits of those watching the dancing Christmas light on all the decked out boats along our intercoastal waterway. These Tampa Bay boaters were creative and colorful and each decorated boat was unique. Here are a couple of videos showing some of the boats in this years Indian Rocks Beach Boat Parade.

When you watch the videos you can hear the wind whipping out there. The captains did a great job keeping all the boats from bumping into each other in the narrow canal as it took an extra 30 minutes for some of the boats to make it to the parade. I hope the video gave you a glimpse into Christmas along the Tampa Florida Beaches.

There was a fabulous display of lights, decorations, animation and music on the boats that participated in this years Indian Rocks Beach Holiday boat parade. I guess the $4000 in prize money helped energize everyone’s Christmas spirit.

I took some pictures (however I need a better flash – rumor is Santa is hoping to bring one this year :-)) I also took some videos to share the experience for those that weren’t able to be with us in Indian Rocks Beach Florida this year.

Boating and Waterfront Living in Tampa Bay

Boating is part of living on the waterfront in Tampa Bay. If you want to enjoy boating we have lots of different ways to enjoy boating from buying your own boat to being part of a boating club or sail boat racing team. We even have extensive classes at the Clearwater Sailing Center and the Clearwater Power Squadron. Wishing lots of “fun by the foot” when boating in 2008 as my friend, Shane Faunce says.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Just 5 more days until Christmas – Are you ready?

Clearwater Florida Real Estate Agents experience Natural Florida

Camping under the Stars | Pinellas County Florida | Ft Desoto Park

Sunset at Ft Desoto campground Tierra Verde flMy family takes along weekend every year to go primative – well ok, to me primitive is 3 days without “real estate” and without my laptop  however, we did have electricity and running water at Ft DeSoto Park’s popular campground located in the southern most point in Pinellas County – just take Tierra Verde till it ends at the #1 Beach in the US (in 2005).

Hanging in the hammock at Ft Desoto Beach Tierra Verde Florida I joke about being on Survivor and my one luxury item is my hammock that can be thrown up anywhere under the canopy of cabbage palms. The good news is that we actually have 3 so we create a special hangout when we go.

boating popular at ft desoto and tierra verde Ft Desoto Park in Pinellas County offers some of the best Florida camping. You have the largest boat ramp in Pinellas county (8+ ramps) so it’s great for boating, jet skiing and fishing.

kayaking and fishing popular in tierra verde and ft desoto areaThen you have easy water access for kayaking and windsurfing and if that’s not enought the Great Florida Birding Trail runs through it so it’s great for birding and their is a fishing pier and amazing beaches.

ft desoto one of top dog parks in united statesNow if you have a dog in your life, not to worry, Ft Desoto Park has a Paw Playground and even a rare Dog Beach – the Paw Playground was voted one of the Top 10 in the US in 2006.

We saw incredible sunsets, nature up close and even the racoons think they’re family. At $30–$40/night to camp it’s a real bargain too.

It was a great time and believe it or not the world of Tampa Bay Real Estate was fine and waiting for me when I returned to it on Monday!

It’s an important reminder that we are lucky enough to call Clearwater Florida home and we need to take time to enjoy all the great things it has to offer – like eveyone else – that’s why we live in Tampa Bay – or as we like to call it ~ Paradise! :-)
