Fun Things to do in Tarpon Springs Florida
Tarpon Springs, Florida is home to two of Pinellas Counties best Public Parks and today I‘d like to share information with you on A.L. Anderson Park located in Tarpon Springs Florida and is situated on Lake Tarpon.
Fred H Howard Park is the other Pinellas Park located in Tarpon Spings Florida and juts out into the Gulf of Mexico complete with it’s own beach.
Anderson Park – Boating, Dog Park, Picnics, Playgrounds and More
Pinellas County Park, A. L. Anderson Park, is made up of almost 130 acres of green space in Northern Pinellas County.
It has a distinctive hilly terrain and long nature trail and boardwalk along Lake Tarpon and Salmon Bay.
A.L. Anderson Park also has a playground for kids and is a favorite among Tampa Bay doggie paw grounds for dogs. This Pinellas County Park also had large areas of ample picnic tables overlooking the waterfront.
A. L. Anderson park officially opened in 1982 and is named after a former commissioner who was a fisherman and also won several conservation awards.
Today I want share some of my favorite things about A L Anderson Park in Tarpon Springs are:
-
The Pinellas County public boat ramps for easy access to freshwater boating, jet skiing and more - the large parking lot is appreciated on busy holidays and weekends;
- These Pinellas County Parks have an elaborate Paw Playground for man’s best friend - the dog park is complete with fire hydrants, water and more;
- Playground for kids as well that overlooks Lake Tarpon and hilly terrain.
- It has several shaded picnic shelters - Bar-B-Ques, Family Picnics and Birthday Parties are a few of the uses that come to mind; One sits overlooking Lake Tarpon.
- Public restroom facilities are kept neat in clean in my experience;
