Clearwater Beach Florida – It’s hard to believe New Years is just days away. This is the time of year when we have lots of college football fans hit Clearwater Beach to kickoff the party leading to the big Outback Bowl on New Years Day held in the Raymond James Stadium.
I thought this picture was perfect since I am a University Florida Gator! Everywhere you go on Clearwater Beach you see people ready to host our Outback Bowl guests.
Sunday promises to be a day of FREE fun things to do for everyone who comes. It is being held at the newly remodeled Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort at 400 Mandalay Ave on Clearwater Beach located next to Pier 60 – home of the nightly sunset celebration.

Clearwater Beach Florida – Recovering from Christmas

Clearwater Beach FL –
Okay, it a holiday week and still recovering from our Christmas meals.
If you’re like me it’s time for some fun.
Check out these brain teasers (answers are at the end if you need them)….
Clearwater Beach Florida – Brain Teasers
1. Where is the American flag flown round the clock, but is never
raised, lowered, or saluted?
2. What is the only country whose flag is not rectangular?
3. What is the only country to have a single-colored flag?
4. How many verses does the Greek national anthem have?
Clearwater Beach Florida – Snapshots of Christmas 2007
While you’re contemplating the brain teasers – on the lighter side we wanted to share a few snapshots from Christmas 2007 yesterday on Clearwater Beach Florida’s Pier 60.
Pier 60 is a special place where everyone congregates nightly to celebrate the sunset and Christmas evening was no different. The Pier was hopping with visitors and the sun didn’t disappoint – ah the light show is always inspiring. The evening even ended with a full moon. Enjoy…

Hope you had a great Christmas with your family and friends.
We had a great day and enjoyed checking out the visitors vacationing here. We met lots of Europeans and Canadians already here for the winter. I can’t say I blame them… it is paradise found here on Clearwater Beach Florida.
Thanks for letting us share our little piece of Paradise,

ok here are the answers to the questions above – hope you had a little fun… tomorrow we’ll be back talking about Clearwater Beach Real Estate and more!
1. On the Moon.2.Nepal’s flag is asymmetrical. 3. Libya’s, which is
solid green. 4. 158.

Sand Key Bridge to Clearwater Beach Real Estate - Perfect for Sunday’s Sunset
December 23rd, 2007 Categories: Clearwater Beach Florida, Sand Key Florida, Sunday Sunsets, Tampa Beach Living, Things to do, Waterfront Living
Sand Key – Clearwater Beach Florida Sunset Series
Clearwater Beach Florida – Today we captured a Clearwater Beach sunset taken from the foot of the Memorial Causeway bridge looking out as the sun set behind the high-span Sand Key Bridge which connects Clearwater Beach and Sand Key Florida.
The island you see in the picture in front of the Sand Key Bridge is actually a protected bird sanctuary – we have several here to provide a safe haven for our natural wildlife – we are also part of the Great Florida Bird Trail.
While today was an overcast day, you can see the sun still puts up a fight to pierce through the clouds and shine through onto Clearwater Beach and our intercoastal waterways.
The good news was that even though it was cloudy on Clearwater Beach and Sand Key Florida – it was still warm enough for Jet skiers to go out and play along Clearwater Beach as you can see in the picture above. Can you believe it was 78 degrees here today – what’s the tempature where you are?
You can see our local birds (Ibises) enjoying the peaceful water and relaxing sunset too.
I think they also enjoy fishing for their dinner here since it’s an active time for fish in Clearwater Harbor along our intercoastal shores and the Memorial Causeway Bridge.
If you have an area Tampa Beach sunset or even a great Pinellas County sunset you want to share just email it to me at cyndee@sandbarstosunsets.com; we’d love to feature it here.
Even on days that are cloudy in Clearwater Florida we seem to always have an inspirational sunset.
I was struck by the beauty of today’s sunset with the piercing rays and the more muted colors of light yellow and dusty blues and grey and then watched as it turn a fiery orange as it set on Clearwater Beach and Sand Key – it’s easy to see why we say we have the bluest backyards – from top to bottom we’ve got it all.
For all our Clearwater Beach Christmas and Holiday visitors, like the one seen below, enjoy your time with us and make sure you take time to see one of our best attraction…our nightly sunsets and the best part is it’s free!

Wishing you a great a Holiday week of joy and peace to celebrate with your family and friends.
