Sand Key Bridge to Clearwater Beach Real Estate - Perfect for Sunday’s Sunset

Sand Key – Clearwater Beach Florida Sunset Series
Clearwater Beach Florida – Today we captured a Clearwater Beach sunset taken from the foot of the Memorial Causeway bridge looking out as the sun set behind the high-span Sand Key Bridge which connects Clearwater Beach and Sand Key Florida.
The island you see in the picture in front of the Sand Key Bridge is actually a protected bird sanctuary – we have several here to provide a safe haven for our natural wildlife – we are also part of the Great Florida Bird Trail.
While today was an overcast day, you can see the sun still puts up a fight to pierce through the clouds and shine through onto Clearwater Beach and our intercoastal waterways.
The good news was that even though it was cloudy on Clearwater Beach and Sand Key Florida – it was still warm enough for Jet skiers to go out and play along Clearwater Beach as you can see in the picture above. Can you believe it was 78 degrees here today – what’s the tempature where you are?
You can see our local birds (Ibises) enjoying the peaceful water and relaxing sunset too.
I think they also enjoy fishing for their dinner here since it’s an active time for fish in Clearwater Harbor along our intercoastal shores and the Memorial Causeway Bridge.

Even on days that are cloudy in Clearwater Florida we seem to always have an inspirational sunset.
I was struck by the beauty of today’s sunset with the piercing rays and the more muted colors of light yellow and dusty blues and grey and then watched as it turn a fiery orange as it set on Clearwater Beach and Sand Key – it’s easy to see why we say we have the bluest backyards – from top to bottom we’ve got it all.

Clearwater Florida | Tampa Bay Walks for Special Friends and for the Breast Cancer Cure

Clearwater Florida kicks off Breast Cancer 3–Day Walk
This year the 60 mile Susan G Komen Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3–Day Race has extra meaning to me so when a women I don’t know knocked at my door one day asking me to sponsor her in the walk of course I said yes.
She told me she is a Breast Cancer survivor and she is one of the special women I will have on my mind this weekend. I have had 3 friends who have battled breast cancer this past year. Two have Stage 4 and are truly battling for their life. One of my friends is Karen George. She is an amazing woman and a talented Arizona Mortgage Broker that I have worked closely with this past year. She has written a Fighting Breast Cancer blog and shared her experience in hopes to help others as they are fighting breast cancer – I encourage you to visit – I have donated to her cause and hope others will help her in her fight as well.
I also have a close friend, Ashley Drake Gephart, who is a top real estate agent in Albuquerque NM and she also has been touched by friends fighting Breast Cancer and her talented daughter, Natty, created this video about battling breast cancer and as women never giving up.
Sand Key Park – Clearwater Florida is the Starting Spot
The race will be held this weekend October 19–21, 2007 and will begin at 7:30am on Saturday October 19th at 1060 Gulf Blvd. Sand Key Park Clearwater FL 33767. The walk will finally end at Spa Beach Park (next to the St Petersburg Pier) in Saint Petersburg, Florida and they will have the closing ceremonies at 5:30pm on the 21st.
The weather is predicting rain Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon – let’s hope it’s light and provides some comfort to those on the walk.

Steps from Sand Key Condos and the Beach
Recently I wrote about the Dog Days of Summer on Sand Key Beach Clearwater, Florida. We enjoyed the beach and watching both the Sea Screamer and the Pirate Ship pass by.
Well after a long day at the beach we were reminded that there is nothing is better than cooling off at Ryan’s Ice Cream & Yogurt with a truly decadent sweet treat. The funny thing is the name is a bit deceiving because they don’t actually serve yogurt - but they do serve gourmet a large variety of ice creams, sorbets, shakes, smoothies, cakes, pies and even rainbow snow cones.
Ryan’s is one of the 20 shoppes that makes up the The Shoppes on Sand Key - across the street many of Sand Keys luxury waterfront condos.
The Shoppes on Sand Key are the only stand alone retail establishment on Sand Key so they get quite a bit of business from the people living and staying in the Sand Key condos and from locals like us. There are deli’s, resturants, tropical clothing stores, Dunkin Donuts and our favorite ice cream shops - Ryans!
Ryan’s is family owned and offers a variety of great ice cream flavors and even fancy waffle cones, dipped in chocolate with sprinkles . They offer limited seating inside at 2 tables with the ceiling fans whirling above but with a great view outdoors we chose to eat our treats on the boardwalk overlooking Clearwater’s Intercoastal Waterway.
Last week I asked the boys to help me pick their favorite Ice Cream at Ryans. Well one settled on a family favorite - the Mint Chocolate Chip - so cool and refreshing. The other decided to drop the “Cream” and just do “ICE” as in Rainbow Sno-Cone…
Watching him enjoy his sno-cone was a great reminder of life’s simple pleasures!
Sometimes we forget to just savor the little joys of life - a sno cone, a great view, a cool summer breeze - Does life really get any better than this?
