Clearwater Beach Florida Sunset Series
Here’s the second in our series of featuring one of the best parts of Clearwater Florida real estate – our beautiful Tampa Bay sunsets. Living on the west coast of Florida great sunsets are just one of the perks – living on coast – beach sunsets are just the cherry on top. Here’s our favorite sunset of the week that we took. If you have a sunset you want to share just email it to me at cyndee@sandbarstosunsets.com
This week we ended the week after Thanksgiving with 80 degree weather in Clearwater Beach Florida. Can you believe it was the start of December as well – all the vacationers liked that.
There is something magical that touches my “imagination” as David Henry Thoreau poem says when the sun dips each evening into the Gulf of Mexico. The clouds and variety of colors definitely had my creative thoughts going while there’s also nothing like it to relax me . Being from Clearwater Beach Florida we take our sunsets seriously.
We even have a nightly celebration at Pier 60 so if you’re looking for a place to catch a sunset from you can always count on Pier 60 for the nightly sunset and festivities.
This week we enjoyed a beautiful Tierra Verde beach sunset and the contrast of the darkness of night as the sun dipped down. Because there are no lights around Fort Desoto it creates a sunsets of shades and shadows of a different kind. The boys were camping there with the local Boy Scout Troop.

Clearwater Florida Waterfront Homes| WARNING: Why Inspections Save Home Buyer $1000s!

Clearwater Florida Home Buyers Get Inspection - Avoid Costly Mistake
Clearwater Florida Real Estate - You’ve heard us write about the need for thorough Clearwater home inspections and about Clearwater FL Pool Home inspections and how valuable we think the are when purchasing any home in Clearwater Florida.
Well, another example happened recently that only solidifies the point that a home inspection is ALWAYS worth the money in our opinion.
We have a Clearwater home buyer who we were helping buy an older canal get-a-way home with a great waterfront view and boat dock out back. This Clearwater waterfront property represented a great value for this home buyer and he was anxious to close the real estate deal because he just knew this distressed waterfront house was worth at least $150,000 more than he was going to pay for it - a bargain by most people’s standards here in the Tampa Bay area.
Clearwater Homes - Buyers Get Better Bargain after Home Inspections
Fortunately for this Clearwater home buyer, we insisted upon a home inspection and in slowing down the home purchase process to make sure the buyer would still be happy with his real estate purchase in a few months or years.
Until you have a thorough home inspection there are so many unknowns and unanswered questions. Do you realize the new Florida roofing codes of October 2007 can mean replacing a roof on a home you’re thinking of buying could be double what you were planning on? As we’ve said before - we’re not about selling any one house, we’re about helping people find their Clearwater dream home so they are happy for the long haul.
As you might expect, this older Clearwater waterfront home needed quite a bit of work and the cost of these items quickly ate up the ”savings” the buyer was expecting to have. Remember it’s always - Home Buyer Beware and inspections give you the information you need to make informed decisions and allow you to avoid costly mistakes.
So what happened, well now, we are re-negotiating a new deal on this Clearwater waterfront property based on the facts and the home buyer is so happy he listened to our advice.
To purchase real estate in the Clearwater Florida area please call Cyndee & I at (727) 422–8901 and check out our customer testimonials below to know that we will make you a happy home buyer too.
Have you ever had a home inspection that protected you from a potential “money pit”? We’d love to hear your experience.

Tierra Verde Florida | Tampa Bay Watch keeps our Waters Blue and Estuaries Healthy
November 4th, 2007 Categories: Community News, Green Living, Pinellas County, Things to do, Tierra Verde Florida, Waterfront Living
Keeping Tampa Bay’s Water Blue by being Green
I want to introduce you to a wonderful 501(c)(3) eco-friendly non-profit we are members of here in the Tierra Verde, Florida – Tampa Bay Watch
They are located at: Tampa Bay Watch, 3000 Pinellas Bayway South, Tierra Verde, FL 33715
Tampa Bay Watch is very active in a variety of programs and education to make a real difference by helping to Conserve and Restore Tampa Bay.
They are working to restore the Bay everyday through:
- Building Oyster Domes;
- Oyster Reef Enhancement Programs;
- Salt Marsh Planting Program;
- Sea Grass Planting Program;
- Coastal Clean Up Program;
- Mono-filament Program;
- Great Bay Scallop Search;
- Invasive Plant Removal
They do a great job of helping Tampa Bay’s waters stay blue (through their green efforts).
They organized 13 years ago when the waters of Tampa Bay were facing serious environmental challenges that threatened our extensive eco-system which supports 70% of the local fish, shell fish and more wildlife at some point in their life.
Did you know that Tampa Bay (the body of water) is the largest estuary in the state of Florida?
-
It is and it is made up of “400 square miles of open water and 2,300 square miles of highly developed watershed that supports industry, agriculture, and a diverse population in excess of 2.4 million people.” – Source: TampaBayWatch.org
Tampa Bay Watch’ s purpose is the protecting and restoring Tampa Bay’s estuary, as well as, restoring the marine and wetlands environments. They focus on the delicate ecosystem that exists in the waters of Tampa Bay.
History of Cunningham Key Home to Tampa Bay Watch
From Tampa Bay Watch’s website I learned about their history and their current location – a waterfront piece of property to die for at the southern most point of Tierra Verde. In the 1960s the Department of Transportation dredged Tampa bay and this piece of land known as Cunningham Key became part of the causeway connecting Tierra Verde to Ft. De Soto park.
In 2000 Pinellas County and the State of Florida Greenways Program worked together to purchase the Cunningham Key property to be the headquarters for Tampa Bay Watch’s environmental protection and restoration programs.
All in a Green Days Work – Caring Volunteers Make a Difference:
On a recent Saturday morning the Tampa Bay Watch volunteers hit Fort Desoto beach and the surrounding mangrove areas to do a Coastal Clean Up. Look at the results in the picture to the left.
Being a frequent visitor to the beach I was amazed at just how much trash was collected – just imagine what our beaches would be like if this wasn’t done periodically.
As a Cleawater house with 2 cub scouts we always try to leave Tampa Bay beaches places better than we found them, this is the crux of what Tampa Bay Watch does everyday in so many ways.
Below is a video with a Tampa Bay Watch intern, Jessica, kind enough to share more about www.TampaBayWatch.org.
You can support their efforts, Join Tampa Bay Watch and become a member for as little as $25 a year.
